The B Word

Bikini, Bathers, Beach...

Jets Illuminate Asymmetrical
Tie front separate pant
Imperial glow. $84.95-
It's time to get the swimmers out....

Jets Illuminate Infinity
Bandeau separate Top $125.95

I've been asking around what swimmers to buy and most girls answer Seafolly or Jets. I worked in a swimwear shop for a few years and they are good brands.  Both my Jets and Seafolly have ended up in the dryer by mistake on a few occasion and they have survived.  I have a black rash top from Jets that I've had for about 10 years and it is still going strong.  http://www.surfstitch.com/product/jets-illuminate-infinity-bandeau-separate-top-imperial-glow.  Jets have some fantastic separates in all different colours and sizes.

Bardot Amazon Bikini $69.95

Jets Asymmetrical 1PCE $550

This bardot bikini I have mentioned before as I love the print, it is a little on the skimpy side - or maybe it's me?  Bardot Amazon bikini $69.95.

Had to show you this one piece from Jets: It's only $550 - Perfect for that resort holiday - or beach wedding!

Kaftans are pretty handy to wear over swimmers, and are good to keep cool and the sunburn away.  http://www.seafolly.com.au/au/avalon-kaftan-1.html.  Seafolly have some great Kaftans - It's worth clicking on the link and having a look.

Seafolly Satisfaction
Kaftan $119.95

Seafolly Avalon
Kaftan $99.95.

Seafolly High Society
Kaftan $89.95.

Have a great week-end.  The two fashion parades I'm going to are going to be interesting. See yesterdays blog: "Oh The Pressure!"  The Rotary ladies parade on Saturday will be interesting as will the Sunday Soiree.  Talk about one extreme to the other.  There is a fashion blogger from Sydney making a guest appearance on Sunday so I'm looking forward to that too!

I feel compelled to say that although I have never met Jillian Meagher, I am saddened by her death and the horrific circumstances that surround her final hours.  Jillian had the right to walk the short distance home without being taken.  To say I feel sorry for her,  her work colleagues, and her family is an understatement. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/abc-employee-jill-meaghers-family-devastated-by-her-death/story-e6frg6nf-1226483095816

Talk Monday.

Oh The Pressure!

'A Sunset Soiree'

I've been invited to the Joy Hysteric Spring/Summer 12/13 Fashion Launch on Sunday Afternoon at Lauxes.  Lauxes (sexual spelt backwards) is a glamorous champagne bar in Broadbeach on the GC.  It should be a nice event, with the latest fashion from Joy Hysteric.  I have mentioned Joy Hysteric before. I bought my leather pants there:  see previous blog: "Shopping Post Mortem".

Alice McCall Alane Dress $369- from Joy Hysteric.

Joy Hysteric stocks some very groovy designers, Alice McCall being one of them.   They have a great online store for the out of towners.

So we are back to same question:

"What do I wear?"  Nothing like a bit of dressing pressure!  I've been thinking that my new Lisa Brown pants that I wore to the lunch where I rode my bike might be the go?   They are pretty safe and I've got a Lisa Brown mesh top that might be ok with them.  I am really looking forward to it.  I've got a couple of shopping buddies coming with me, so it will be nice to sip champagne with some girlfriends and shop.  Very Me - Very Dress Me GC.

And no, I won't be on my bike for this one.  I'm hoping the love of my life picks us all up and drops us all home.  I think he should as his mother is dragging me to a High Tea on Saturday. A Rotary Club High Tea with fashions from a second hand boutique.  It will be quite good, and I am interested in seeing the clothes, but I really wanted some girlfriends to come with me, however there were no takers. Funny that! I can't say I blame them.

And The Winner Is:

Ta Da.....

Sharona Harris - Best Dressed on the GC.

The Winner of the Coast Confidential's Best Dressed is:

Congratulations to Sharona Harris who has taken out the coveted Best Dressed Award on the Gold Coast. Please have a look at the link and see the the final 50 and how they were ranked: http://www.goldcoast.com.au/50-best-dressed.html

Only on the GC folks.

Shopping yesterday took me to Marina Mirage.  Seed has some good tops at the moment.  I seem to have heaps of pants and a few tops.  Shorts is what I really need, but 10's are too squishy and 12's are huge? I'm blaming the cut, not me.

Seed Femme
Scallop Lurex Tank
pale gold
$69.95

Seed Femme
Gotta Have It Tank
$69.95

Back to tops:  Seed Femme is my pick.  http://www.seedheritage.com/new-arrivals/w1/i1001285/

Seed Femme Lurex
Stripe Tee $59.99

The pink "Gotta Have It" silk tank is nice with the Saba silver jeggings, and sandals. It's also in blue.  Looks ordinary in the picture, but the length and cut is good.

The Scallop Lurex Tank also looks bad in print, but in store is very nice and slightly shimmery. I have a Lisa Brown top very similiar to this that cost about 4 times the price. It's also in black.

Still on Seed Femme. The Lurex Stripe Tee is heaps nicer on and has a good hem line. It goes well with the caramel Country Road Jeggings. It's also in black.

Get Moving.

For your own good.

I can't tell you what to do, and I know the saying about leading a horse to water and not being able to get it to drink, but I can encourage you to get exercising.

Asics
One of Dress Me GC's regular followers sent me a photo last night after she had completed Tough Mudder in Sydney.  http://toughmudder.com.au/events/sydney/.  Now I am impressed as this follower has small children, and life is hard enough with "littlies", let alone exercising.  I wish I had done some strenuous exercise earlier in life.  Sure the pram and I could walk forever, but as my trainer has taught me  - that's active resting!  There is a previous post: "Looking like Lorna" where I have mentioned my trainer.

The best thing about training is how it helps mentally. There is nothing better than getting out of the shower and throwing clothes on.  I spent years never being able to get dressed as I always felt yuk.  I put on 30 kilos with each pregnancy - 4 times - Yuk!

It sounds silly, but being taught how to run, has been one of the greatest things to happen to me. I love it! I've run two half Marathons (21K's).  I am not bragging, but if you have known me a long time, you'll know that's almost a miracle.  I'm telling you this to encourage you to get exercising.  I promise you will not be sorry.  The hardest part about exercising is turning up to the very first class. After that it all falls into place.

My running shoes are on the way out, so today is shopping day for new runners (after retail therapy at Toscana - Yesterday's blog: "Couldn't Skip a Day").  Why are they so expensive? I hate paying for them?  Does anyone know a cheaper alternative? I'd much rather buy nice shoes.

Things you need to know:

- The French Connection Mid Season Sale has started.
- The Cotton On coloured jeggings don't last.
- Seed Femme have great new tops: http://www.seedheritage.com/new-arrivals/w1/i1001285/
- I have done the Eurail through Europe and we drank The Chunnel from Paris to London out of beer.
- Lisa Brown clothes have tags that are itchy.
- The Killers new album is good - and so is the new one from Pink.  Speaking of The Killers, I'll see them at The Big Day Out in January - time to work on my outfit: cut off denim shorts, bikini top, cowboy hat! Haha - as if!

Thank-you for reading.

Couldn't Skip a Day..

Without blogging.

Today has been average. In fact it has been VERY average, so I decided not to blog this morning, but there is too much to tell so I'm not boring you with the woe, instead I'm sharing the good stuff.  And besides I enjoy your company.

Received an awesome email from Toscana, so I'll have the sweats tonight in anticipation of the shopping expedition tomorrow.  Here are some photos:

I'm loving the tops and for $99 (I think) you can't go wrong.  It's great to buy tops for that price and you won't see yourself everywhere.  If you are an "out of towner", give Judith a Call on 07 55 383 330. There are some amazing Kaftans too - I'll load them on the Dress ME facebook page.

The Bride & Groom.

The Wedding:

Saint Sandra and I  at
the Wedding.
It was one of the best weddings I've ever been to.  The decorations and theming were out of this world. The food and service were second to none.  It was so much fun that the Bride and Groom were dancing on the tables before the main course was served.  It was impossible not to enjoy yourself!  The ceremony and reception was at Bumbles: www.bumbles.com.au.  It's one of the most beautiful cafe's on the GC and in Australia.

The Lisa Brown sequinned dress got an airing.  Thanks so much to my life saver and BFF neighbour for letting me raid her shoe cupboard while she's out of town - I owe you BIG TIME.

Lee and I at Mow Hair.
While I'm on the Thank-you's: Lee at Mow Hair in Main Beach - you are a star: http://www.mowhair.com.au/contact/ and Kerry at Just Skyn does the best eyebrows: http://www.justskynbeauty.com/.   And Thanks to Kaz for shellac-ing my nails at home.

I hope you had a great week-end. If you have any photos to share of yourelf Dressed and 'out and about' please email them to dressmegc@gmail.com.  Please don't be shy - they may get published.

Thank-you for reading.

All over the Shop.

Too much to do....

There is so much to do, I am not sure where to start!  I should be working out what to wear to The Wedding, but it's a bit hard with the weather, and I am tired.  Word on the street is that there is a heat wave on the way, followed by a storm.   I am in one of those moods where I will just get dressed in whatever, and let champagne do the rest.

Bardot amazon
bikini. $69.95.
Bardot Bikini
Speaking of Heatwave:  Have you got your swimmers ready?  I spotted these at Bardot for $69.95.  They are little on the skimpy side, but the colours are good, and there is a bead on the ties. http://www.bardot.com.au/Amazon-Bikini.aspx?p414263&cr=075649.  These headless photos are awesome, as I'm hoping you think that's me modelling the bikini!!
Last year I bought heaps of bikinis at Seed Harbourtown for about $14 a pair - bargain!
There are heaps of swimwear things to show you next week. Stay tuned.

Ebay keeps me busy.  My sisters always say "Don't give her that, it'll end up on ebay!"  They are probably right, but that's my pay - my work.  It's recycling.  Being an avid shopper, I end up with way more than I can wear, so It ends up on ebay.

I've made friends on ebay. Some people are so nice.  I bought a coin from America years ago and the people email me from time to time to enquire about events in Australia.  The emailed me during the North Queensland Cyclone to ask if I was near there and was I ok?  There are some followers of this blog who are ebay superstars too - good people.

Then there are the bullies - horrible and sad.  I'm not bothering to give them space.

I have thoughts on possibly helping any followers who want to know more about ebay - yes? no?

Bargain Hunting at DJ's:
Armani pants.
$56 down from $269-

Bargain Hunting

I had success this week.  DJ's at Harbourtown was fantastic. Scored a pair of Armani pants for $56.  Summer ones too.  It's jumbled there, but if you're patient, you will be rewarded.

Maybe I should buy more of these when I see them and see if any out of town followers want a pair?

Laughed and Laughed.

Unglamarous background,
but that's how it is!

Thank-you to those of you who sent me pics wearing aprons!  That made my day. And then there were the ones who are going to buy one.  Love it.  Trust me, you'll be hooked.  Thought I'd show you the Country Road one I bought in Cairns 20 years ago.

Have a great week-end.  Find Dress Me on facebook and follow me via google.

GC Best Dressed 10 Finalists

New Apron from Ikea.
Head wasn't meant
to be cut off,
 but it's prob better.

I am not a trend setter...

And I am not a fashion victim, nor am I the best dressed, but clearly I have NO idea about any GC Fashion because here are the 10 finalists from the Gold Coast Confidential's Best Dressed list: http://fashiongc.com.au/gold-coasts-bulletins-top-ten-best-dressed/.  As my six year old would say "for real".   Yes Folks, FOR REAL!

In all honesty I am too scared to say anything.  As I wrote in the previous Blog: "Say No More", which incidently is the best viewed blog ever from Dress Me, if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. Here's the link: http://dressmegc.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/say-no-more.html

I also blogged: "Say No More - Part 2", but it didn't rate well - the damage was done in part one.

IKEA was good.  I spent more than I wanted to. I'm not surprised - it goes with the whole experience.  I used to love going there, and apart from chatting to Natalie (we aways go together) there and back, I've decided I get that sick feeling when I go there.  It's kind of like everytime I'm half dressed/undressed in a changeroom, justifying the purchase and the music starts:  "You've gotta let me go..." The Killers ringtone goes on my phone and without a doubt, it's the love of my life!  I'm sure he has my phone tracked!  "Um yeah, I'm at home....Yeah....just ironing."

At Ikea I bought myself a new apron.  Laugh all you like.  I wear an apron at home daily.  There are about six hanging on two hooks in the kitchen.  It is SO Home Economics, but saves my clothes.  I am the Apron Queen, and have been since my friend Darling made me buy one from Country Road in Cairns 20 years ago.  That apron is on the hook and yes I still wear it.

Friday Wedding

 Yahoo! I love Weddings!

There is nothing better than getting dressed up and drinking at someone elses expense. In all seriousness, this is a VERY exciting wedding as it's our babysitters sons wedding and love of my life and I had a role in the introducing.

We've had our babysitter who is known in our house as "Saint Sandra" for a long time.  SS landed on our door when the four were babies and I was in desperate need of help.  SS is so important in our family that the kids have only just realised that she is not related.  So one NYE we left our four with SS, insisted the now groom come with us, leaving SS with six kids.  And the rest as they say is history, culminating in a Wedding with one of my besties as the bride and SS's son as the groom. Happy Days.

Witchery Aztec
Beaded Skirt $249.95
What am I going to wear?  I kept hoping something would jump out while I was shopping yesterday. I've got heaps of clothes to wear, but I want to wear something new, with a POC (Pop of Colour for the new readers), and I can't decide...  Will it be hot? Will it be cold? bla bla bla.....

It all started when Witchery put a photo on facebook of a skirt.  http://www.witchery.com.au/her/skirts  I love it and it's perfect with a black or gold or silver silk singlet and easy to put coloured shoes or clutch for POC.  There was no time to waste  - I had a skirt to buy and a top, shoes, clutch and accessories to organise. Straight to Witchery for the big purchase, and it's only available at Chadstone. What?  There are also Aztec pants. Same story. What? again.   http://www.witchery.com.au/her/pants/beaded-pant?color=GUNMETAL

WitcheryAztec
Beaded Pant $299.95
I messaged Witchery via facebook and they said the skirt was available in: Doncaster, Southland, Little Collins Street and Melbourne Central.  Not so good if you live in Queensland.  Why do they facebook it for the world and then make it hard to purchase?

Back to "What am I going to wear?"  I'll work it out, somehow between going to Ikea, getting a hair cut, convicing Mr Google to give me more relevant advertising, making lampshades and running a household with a husband, four kids, a dog and a gold fish called "Bernie".  Everyone fought: girl wanted Barbie, boys wanted Ernie. "Bernie' it is!

P.S Following on from the previous blog "Say No More"  The Gold Coast Confidential's Best Dressed has been culled to 10 finalists. It's so bad I can't talk about it - yet!  See for yourself: http://fashiongc.com.au/gold-coasts-bulletins-top-ten-best-dressed/

Always late.

Even the blog is late!

That's Me in the middle - Mrs Lateness
having way too much
 fun with my sisters.
There are some fabulous followers who love reading Dress Me with coffee at morning tea.  Now I was going to say sorry, but I'm putting a spin on this late-ness and have decided that when I finally get to write and publish todays blog I'm thinking you'll be sipping a vino.  So Cheers Girls, It's nice to enjoy an evening tipple with you.

Thought I'd share a pic of the three sisters. I'm wearing a Lisa Brown top they bought me for my 40th.  It's one of those tops that I'll have forever.

I keep telling love of my life I need an ipad so I can blog on the go and not be late, but as he sits in his office working like a maniac for 14 hours a day, and has a good understanding of my life, he says the lap top that I won in a competition about 4 years ago is perfect.  Don't get me started....

Shop. Shop. Shop.

Crappy photo, but was excited to
wear this coat today. I
bought it in March and
have hardly worn it.
That is what I have done today.  It was ok, not a glamour shopping day.  A head down, no time for coffee or lunch - On a mission shopping day!  It wasn't all about retail therapy.

It was about the love of my life.  He's not much fun to shop for and I bet there is no-one in the world that makes shopping more difficult.  He refuses to go to the shops, so I exchange things over and over until it's right.   Fortunately he only needs clothes once every two years, so it's ok for the two years that he's happy.  But for the in between part like now - one word: torture!    You are probably thinking that I should put my foot down and force him to go to the shops, but that would be very silly of me, because he would probably find out the true cost of shopping and then....well I can't bear to think about the consequences.  Besides he's a pretty good husband, so if he's happy - I'm happy.

Incidently, Dress Me has some Male followers.  What do you think of a male guest blogger?

Tomorrow is Ikea with a girlfriend.  That should be interesting.  Last time we went,  I needed candles - $400 plus worth! Not that I spent that much on candles, but that place is a money vacum.  Wish me luck!

Way too much fun.

Sass & Bide The Late Movie
Zippora spray on jean.

Bye-Bye Week-end.

Never thought I say that, but I'm exhausted.  The week-end was almost out of control.  I was a bit naughty.....had to have "one last red" in Tedder Ave after I was dropped home from friday night drinks, and raided my life saver and BFF neighbours fridge for champagne after the bottle shop closed (I had thirsty guests)!  Anyway I was thinking about changing my name to Prince Harry - he's naughty and everyone still loves him!

So much fun - except for the cold snap.  What's with it being freezing again?  The only good thing about the cold was that my leather pants got put to use.

In the last blog: "Mother of the Year", I showed some Sass & Bide jeans and how I wish I'd bought a pair to wear on Friday night.  When I got to drinks there's my running buddy looking her usual glam self in Sass & Bide jeans.  http://www.sassandbide.com/eboutique/denim/the-late-movie.html

Sass & Bides The lover state super crop jean ($270) that I showed on Friday was in the Robina Town Centre Magazine over the week-end.

I love this look - lots of colour without that tacky fluro and just a bit different without looking like a 'try hard'.  The clutch is Nine west and the Heels are from Mimco.

Target Pointelle Kint Crop
Cardigan $35
With the cold snap, I decided I needed a black cardigan to wear to the Wallabies game on Saturday night so I went to Country Road and found one for $99.  It's funny how sometimes we can't part with money so I decided to go to Target and see if they had one. A black cardigan is just that.  Target didn't disappoint - I bought one for $35.    The game was fantastic and it was so good to out with the love of my life and some of my favourite friends. http://shop.target.com.au/pointelle-knit-crop-cardigan-black

Mother of The Year!

That would be ME!

Today was early years day at school, which meant 1/2 a day of organised activities for my 6 & 8 year olds.  Now if I have to be honest, I'll tell you that is was torture and I spent the whole time wondering if the pub on the Broadwater down the road from school was open.   That's me - Mother of the Year.  If I was at work I'd be wishing I had the day off to go.  We always want to be somewhere else.

I downloaded The Killers new album Battleborn this morning and all I wanted to do was relax by the water and listen to the music.  Fat Chance!  Now days the only chance I get to listen to music is to go running and listen to it on my ipod.  What happened to Friday nights on the Verandah, docking station blaring, and champagne in hand?

Instead I found myself walking around school doing craft activities which ended in sitting on the floor of the Prep classroom reading stories.

Fortunately the girls I run with have organised Friday Night out, so I'm home now deciding what to wear. Tomorrow night is The Wallabies V Argentina  and I'm wondering what to wear to that.  I'm wishing I had bought some of the Sass & Bide I saw yesterday:
http://www.sassandbide.com/eboutique/denim/the-curtain-raiser.html

Sass & Bide Neon nights
skinny leg jean $250-
Sass & Bide Curtain Raiser
loverstate super crop
jean $270-

These pants are a great alternative to black, aren't fluro and go with anything.

Thanks so much for following, subscribing, and commenting. Your company is welcome anytime.

Talk Tomorow.

My Own Worst Enemy!

Can't help Myself!

Familiar cry from me isn't it?  Check out the photo and it's fairly self explanatory - except for the big red SALE word on the bag - because I think I bought one item on sale the rest was full price.  Yep! FULL PRICE!

It's so good that I sold about $100 worth of stuff on ebay and can justify spending about 10 times (slight - ok major - exageration) more and justify it at Country Road.

I am the only idiot who bought next to nothing when Spend & Save was on, and then turned up today and spent a small fortune on full price clothes?  I hope not, because the place was packed, and outside was supposed to be 26 degrees and there was a queue at the registers. Now unless you are going o/s like I did last year when I went to Japan, you probably weren't buying winter. So if that's the case: "Cheers", because I'm assuming you are like me and having a glass of Giesen pretending that it's normal to pay full price at a sale event!

AND it gets worse...because I am turning into a hyprocrite.  Two words  - pink pants.  I never said I wouldn't wear them.  I think I said "I may warm to them as summer approaches."  I actually think I could wear them as I am a bit over black, black and more black.  The big issue with wearing them is HIM: the love of my life.  Remember the previous blog: "Unwanted Attention"?  (http://dressmegc.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/unwanted-attention.html) Mmmmmm....disaster!  If I hear him say "I haven't seen them before"  I will not be held responsible for my actions! Say No More - Part 2.

Well that got you Talking...

Ok. So after yesterday's blog: "Say No More", I have been inundated with chatter about the GC's 50 Best Dressed Competition.  I should note that I have been following it in the local paper (I buy the Gold Coast Bulletin every day), and was not going to enter into the fray until phone calls, texts etc... started and then I could not keep quiet.  Having said that, I  haven't shared last weeks showing: Daywear.

Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.454218547956968.110990.163855016993324&type=1

Mel Tan Myers.
So come on, Tell Me!  What do you think of the Daywear Pics?   Again there are a handful that make the grade - the rest?  Well if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.

Mel looks good, and can get away with wearing the pants and top together - I would feel like an idiot if I wore this. I'm loving the pants: Maurie and Eve Geo Print track pants $139-  www.thejoystores.com.  I am slowly warming towards the prints and florals.

Say No More.

It's on again...

Channel 9's Libby Stone
 in Witchery.
The Gold Coast Bulletin's 50 Best Dressed Competition is on.  Now I am busting to let loose but seeing as though I live in this town and Yes I am scared of the women with claws, I am turning the tables and asking Dress Me followers for your opinions.

I know I am a scaredy cat, but I have been on the wrong end of the claws and take my word for it, it's not pleasant.  One night I got an earful so I ran to the front door to escape and they beat me to it - locked the door and still gave me a blast! True Story!  So traumatised was I that when I got to a girlfriends house for safety I couldn't even drink the rum and coke she poured for me. Again True Story!

So here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.461355777243245.113072.163855016993324&type=1

I'm busting to hear what you think?  Please DON'T make it personal or nasty - It's all about the fashion.  It is also important at this point I make it very clear that I don't ever think I am better dressed than anyone else, and I hope you "get that" by reading this blog and all my fashion mistakes, and short comings etc...  The main aim of the blog is to keep it real so you can all relate in some way to shopping and dressing and going out. You with me?

Personally I am pretty disappointed in the line up, except for a handful - It's meant to be evening wear?  We have some of the most beautifully dressed women on the Gold Coast and this is what they came up with?  Who picks this line up? The poor judges - what a tough gig.   Anyway..Let me know what you think.  Libby Stone from Channel 9 looks fantastic - I'm hoping she was inspired from my previous blog: "Who do you dress for", when I featured the Witchery Dress. http://dressmegc.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/who-do-you-dress-for.html

If you are at the shops today:

Pick up a pair of these black pants from Witchery:

After Lunch on friday I was chatting to a few girlfriends about riding my bike and how good it felt riding along the esplande looking at the surf, and how it was so much fun to ride straight to concierge, take my helmet off and walk into lunch while everyone elso was stepping out of limosines and taxis.

I said "It was so liberating to be pedalling away - I felt so happy - the weather was perfect - I loved it!"  That was until they changed the whole perception and said "Yes - the other girls were probably looking at you and thinking: Poor Love, she's lost her license and can't afford a cab!"

Talk about laugh! That completely blew me away! So there you go, you can never judge unless you know the full story!

The lunch was fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised how well dressed most of the women were.  I have also decided that I need to stop "dressing safe" and get a bit more colour in my wardrobe.  I had a creamy brown mesh top to wear, but decided it was too long with the pants, so I opted for a black singlet which was ok, but looked very boring from the waist up, especially when you are sitting at a table.   Although, once the champagne started flowing it didn't really matter!

Withdrawl Symptoms.

My life is in the way...

Of my need for Retail Therapy.  It's very depressing and I am suffering symptoms associated with not shopping!  I have not shopped enough this week as I have been very busy doing everything else but shop.  See the photo? That's me at work making lampshades.

It's been so busy I have barely had a glass of wine.  Mr BWS (Beer, Wine & Spirits) is going to send out a search party.  He knows me and it's not because I go there alot, it's because my life saver and BFF neighbour rang Mr BWS once and asked him to ask me to get her milk! The humiliation! Milk on a Friday night?! BFF learnt fast that Friday night, milk and me is not going to happen. Alright  - Yes - I did buy the milk.  It was raining and BFF was not getting wet, unlike me who would go to the bottleshop in a hail storm!

But my need for Retail Therapy, and Wine Drinking will be fixed, as I'm going to lunch, so all the wine I've missed out on will be consumed and the shopping will be sort of be done by seeing what everyone has bought, and is wearing.  You see I'm going to a Label Magazine Lunch  - a GC DO if I may say so  - and a real eye opener, even for a GC girl like me.....

Now I don't want this to be mean or nasty or horrible, but how much is too much?  And this blog is NOT intended to be bitchy or judgemental, but, some of the girls at these lunches look horrible!  They probably think I look everybit of my housewife existence, and that's ok with me, but in all seriousness some of the women look like drag queens.  They have big fake hair, big fake boobs, and big fake lips. And the worst part is that they were probably very attractive to start with.

Now I am right into spending money on looking good - In fact my husband will tell anyone that I am right into spending money fullstop!  What I am trying to say is that we are so lucky now days with what we can wear: you can get amazing bras, botox, boob jobs, gel pads for sore feet, eyelash perming, eyeliner tattooing and the list goes on forever.  I think it's fantastic! I love it! If my husband worked a bit harder and increased his hours from 80-100,  and I didn;t have 4 children, I could get stuff done too, but that's probably a story for another blog.....

Off to Lunch on my bike wearing Lisa Brown - Cheers!
My mother died when she was 50 - 15 years ago.  The reason why I'm telling you this is because I use it as a time benchmark for how different life is now.  You couldn't text when she was alive, in fact compared to how we live today, things were fairly limited back then.

So why is it, that there are so many options out there - you can even buy comfortable "hold me in pants" - and yet some girls still look terrible?  Maybe it's just in my eyes?

Can you tell I haven't had wine? I'm off on my bike to lunch.....

Don't forget to find me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/#!/dressme.gc. A big hello to the Kilcoy Girls - Thanks for reading and shopping and Enjoy "Back to Kilcoy Day".

Talk Monday.
