So when I'm going to get milk in Tedder Ave in my wedges please don't think I look ridiculous and over the top - I'd rather you think of me looking practical! Oh and please ignore the fact I can barely walk in them - that is a story for another blog....
I was eluding to the "just wear it" rant with Lisa Brown in a previous post - "It's a Miracle!". Last summer I was agonising about Lisa Brown shorts and top. They were way too expensive for a non working Mum, until Judith (from Toscana where I buy Lisa Brown from) says "It's not for good - wear it, wash it, and wear it again." Clever Judith! One comment like that and she had my money. The best part was that she was right. I wore it, and wore it, and wore it and got my dollars worth. In fact, I'm looking forward to wearing it again this season.

Love this blog topic ... You can't take all those expensive clothes and shoes with you when you die. My mum asked me recently why I was using my good Wedgewood Dinner service for every day use and why don't I keep it for best ... to which I replied "This is Best" - every day is best !!! At least on the GC you can go and get the milk in your finest gear and no one gives a toss ... "whatever" goes ! You looked fantastic in that Lisa Brown shorts and top outfit all last summer. I ummed and ahhed for ages about the most beautiful scarf in Janine Edwards for over 6 months (finally it sold - and not to me because I procrastinated so much over spending $350 on the most beautiful scarf that I really couldn't afford) - but the girl in the shop did say - "Buy it and wear it death" that way each time you wear it the value of the item becomes more and more ... She said you "You only have to wear the scarf 100 times and it becomes $3.50 per wear" - I liked her thinking. Not enough to hand over my money but it does work for items that you can wear a lot and dress up or down. I have the most beautiful hot pink pashmina that I paid about $400 for about 15 years ago - I have worn it so often that it's now up to about 10c per time i've worn it ... Just wear it and get your money's worth !!
So true Sarah. I have just taken the Villeroy and Boch dining set, that was a wedding gift 15 years ago, out of storage and will start using it!
