Shopping Postmortem

Monday rambling about last weeks shopping:

As hard as Monday is I don't mind it as it's a chance to have a break from the craziness of the week-end.  I went missing on Friday - no I didn't go to lunch - I went shopping!

Last Thursday I received the Country Road Spend and Save offer, the latest David Jones catalogue and my wonderful neighbour forwarded me a text that read: " From Janine Edwards: Helmut Lang has arrived in store! Beautiful knits & lambskin leather leggings...Plus Summer Hunky Dory Stockholm (a brand I have just discovered - not bad) & Sete di Jaipur silk scarves"  Now Janine Edwards is a dress shop at Marina Mirage, so I went there on Friday interested in the lambskin leather leggings.  Hello? Hello? Hello? Anyway I'm the invisible girl because every time I go there I can't get served.  So nothing to report from there.  They have fantastic stuff and it's worth a look - i hope you have more success than me.

This winter I have invested in Leather leggings/pants (I can't print the price incase my husband reads this), and they are so comfortable I highly recommend them. http://watsonxwatson.com.au/collections/autumn-winter-2012  I bought mine from Melanie Tan at Joy Hysteric:  http://thejoystores.com/Hysteric

Mel has a great online store and is very helpful - it's worth a look.  I'll aim to get to Country Road later this week and will highlight some things from the David Jones catalogue.  Not sure where to start - It's loaded with fantastic things!

I've had some queries about the jeans in all the bright colours. I have bought a pink pair from Witchery for Stella for her 6th birthday. I hope that answers your question.

Pale pink, pale mint green, very light blue yes, but leave the neons for the kids.  Yes there will be some women who can wear them and will look great, and I'm happy about that cause it gives us girls who can't wear them someone to talk about when we drink wine!

If you are going to buy them, I reckon Target, Kmart and Big W will have them for 1/3 of the price of everywhere else and you won't know the difference. The picture shows a pair from Seed Femme. FCUK have some that look like the right colour on their website:http://www.frenchconnection.com.au/pants-denim/lilly-denim-coloured-jean/w2/i3822710_2405784/

Talk Tomorrow....

Interesting I went to Joy Hysteric @ Broadbeach on Saturday afternoon and I was invisible too!! Apart from when the shop assistant kept asking me to move so she could replace garments back on the rack. Would have bought caramel sandals ($160) but just walked out in the end. NO SERVICE.

P.s Harbour Day Spa next door was fantastic and provided excellent service if anyone is interested.

Shopping with 2 young children also makes one invisible! Maybe that's why I love shopping online - you get the excitement of the delivery van arriving AND you can try it all on in peace when kids are asleep. My biggest problem is I never return anything if not quite right - usually wear it then sell on ebay when I should just post it back.

I do that too - wear clothes, shoes once and then decide it's not for me or I really don't need it. I'm with you on the eBay thing - sometimes you just don't know until you've worn it. It's a great chance to give people bargains and share clothes around. It's just a shame I find too many nice things to buy while I'm selling on eBay! Lol!!

You won't believe what happened....I was going to return the olive leggings I bought from The Iconic to solve my brown ankle boot dilemma. I even had the return label printed and the box ready to go. I thought, I'll just try them on one more time while the kids are playing.....cue 18 month old to come and find me and slobber all over them! Guess they are mine for keeps now....$120 for leggings that remind me of Grease pants! I have got to make them work now!
